Our Story

Teal House Coffee & Bakery was originally founded by our family, the Phillips, in a teal house on Littlefield Street as a family-operated cottage business.

Our entrepreneurial inspiration came from a neighbor who advertised paella for sale on our neighborhood’s facebook page with tremendous success. Her success encouraged us to begin offering cinnamon rolls and apple pies to our neighbors on Father’s Day 2016. Our five children had dreamed of going to Disney World so all of our profits from selling baked goods initially went towards funding our family’s Disney vacation.

The business quickly became a family affair with our two older daughters learning to make the cinnamon rolls and pies from scratch, the younger siblings lending a hand when needed, and the family dog greeting neighbors as they stopped by to pick up their orders. Our cottage business continued to grow in popularity with 31 dozen cinnamon roll orders for Memorial Day and 60 apple pie orders for Thanksgiving that year.

Since then, our menu has expanded to include several other baked goods along with specialty coffee. As Teal House has grown, our family’s vision for the business has also grown. In the beginning of 2018, we began to dream about purchasing a food trailer so our customers could conveniently drive thru and pick up their coffee and baked goods on their daily commutes. This dream has become a reality with the Teal House Coffee & Bakery trailer now open in Southeast Austin! Come on by and see us!
